Yes, it’s true that “The Devil’s Breath” sounds like the title of a metal album; it also happens to be the name for Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders season 2 episode 3. This installment is airing on CBS next week, and it’ll be continuing the show’s pattern of visiting foreign countries and helping American citizens in one way or another there.
Unfortunately, there is one regrettable trend that CBS is keeping up from the flagship show here, and that is deciding not to release a full flurry of details when it comes to some of the story ahead. They’re fine to give you a small tease or two, and then they really just hope that this is enough to have you engaged and excited for what’s coming moving forward.
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders season 2 episode 3 synopsis – “The International Response Team investigates the apparent suicide of an American in Colombia who emptied his bank account prior to his death.”
We will say that when it comes to procedural missions, this one is interesting just because this doesn’t sound like the sort of behavior of a man wanting to commit suicide, unless it was really his goal for whatever reason to end his life and ensure that nobody else could ever have some of his money. It seems more like he was trying to get away from something, but the question is what. Given that emptying your bank account is the sort of thing that you can do before going on the run, he may have been traveling somewhere else beyond just Colombia.
Hopefully, there will be some sort of inkling following tonight’s episode as to what this “somewhere” could be. Also, hopefully there are also some ratings to report on tomorrow. Due to Nielsen outages, we’ve had the lightest week ever when it comes to ratings reporting — and it certainly feels odd, to say the least.
