Hawaii Five-0 season 7 spoilers: Julie Benz returning — but when?
According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, you are going to be seeing Benz (who is a part of Training Day this season, hence her extended absence) on the upcoming season 7 finale airing most likely in May. Executive producer Peter M. Lenkov made it clear to the site that Abby and Chin are still in a relationship, so don’t assume that she is going to be turning up just to break things up. She actually has a very specific purpose in coming back beyond getting to spend some time with Daniel Dae Kim’s character — she will be helping to further dismantle the sex-trafficking ring that surfaced on this past episode of the show.
In general, one of the things that season 7 has done very well is introduce mysteries that they pay off in later episodes. We saw this previously with the whole story of the bomb, and we’ve certainly seen it courtesy of the showdown between Alicia Brown and Dr. Madison Gray. This is something that does work for us just because it enables some more opportunities to get to know the characters individually all the better. For example, this past episode was a great showcase for Grace Park as Kono, and with that, we’re certainly interested and invested in seeing what the show decides to do with the character next.
Of course, we do have plenty of time between now and the end of Hawaii Five-0 season 7, and that also means making it through the hiatus that we’ve got at the moment. There is not going to be a new episode of the show airing until we get around to the end of the month, but that’s not going to stop us from providing more coverage! When it comes to relationships, it’s not that unusual that we’re only seeing Abby here and there on the show — remember that none of the love interests for McGarrett, Kono, or Danny are series regulars, either.
