Insecure season 2 premiere date confirmed by Issa Rae

Have you been desperate to learn the Insecure season 2 premiere date? We’ve got good news on that front!

In the video HERE via series star Issa Rae, you can get confirmation that the show is going to be back come Sunday, July 23. There is no specific time mentioned in the video, but it’s probably fair to say that the show will be airing at 10:30 p.m. Eastern.

There are two things that are especially notable about this.

1. It’s an earlier premiere date than Insecure season 1 – That season aired in the fall following Divorce, so what we get the sense of here is that the network is obviously very confident with this show to want the second season on the air so soon. We get it, given that it’s hilarious and Rae is one of the best comedic talents on the air at the moment.

2. It could get a Game of Thrones ratings bump – Even with the show airing at 10:30 and there is a show in between it and the HBO epic, it’s still hard to deny that there’ll be a holdover audience. This is another vote of confidence that the network wants as many people to see the show as possible. Insecure is the sort of show that could convince people to keep their subscription even after Game of Thrones ends, so why not promote it now?

HBO in general has a heck of a next few months planned. Not only are we going to be getting a new season of The Leftovers on the air, but you’ve also got some other iconic comedies in between Silicon Valley and Veep. When it comes to sure-fire hits and ridiculously-good programming, we’re not sure that there is another network out there with an original lineup as great as the one that HBO has planned.

Just as a reminder, it’s pretty easy to catch up on Insecure or any other show before they return — just get a free trial to HBO NOW and start binge-watching to your heart’s content! That may give you an incentive to want to subscribe in a little more of a permanent capacity moving forward.
