Doctor Who season 10 trailer arrives featuring Bill, Nardole, and so much more
The trailer below was released earlier today by BBC One, and it features a good bit of what there is to be excited about. Everything begins for the time being with Pearl Mackie, and understandably so given that she is the new engine who helps make the Doctor go. She joined the series as Bill prior to the start of the series, and will be filling the void left by Jenna Coleman. What’s exciting about her character can be rather easily defined — she’s enthusiastic, and thrilled to be a part of the experience. She’s also not someone looking at things from the vantage point of knowing how the sausage is made. While we wouldn’t say that Coleman’s Clara got too comfortable with the whole operation of the Tardis at the end of the season, we do very firmly think that she was accustomed to the way in which everything worked.
With Mackie, you get a chance to see the Tardis and experience the show from a new set of eyes, which should bring you back to your early days of watching the show. You’re experiencing the show for the first time, and there’s a great sense of wonder that comes with that. Your imagination runs wild, and you are excited to learn about every wrinkle, twist, and turn that the series throws your way. You’re also heartbroken the first time you see regeneration, which Bill will witness after Peter Capaldi departs at the end of the year.
The trailer is fun. It’s innovative. It also gives you a ton of Matt Lucas as Nardole. In the end, we do think that this is everything that you could want from a Doctor Who season 10 trailer and then some. The struggle now comes in having to sit around and wait for Saturday, April 15, given that this is when the show is going to premiere with new episodes in both America and the UK.
