Poldark season 3: The latest love for series and Aidan Turner

Poldark season 3 -

For all of those waiting for Poldark season 3, rest assured that we’re right there with you. While official details regarding the show’s premiere and the course of the story are not entirely clear yet (unless, of course, you’ve read the books), it is nice to see more honors coming in for the show during the interim.

Let’s start with the series itself, as the most-recent Poldark season received a nomination recently from the TRIC Awards in the category of HD Drama Programme. The organization is otherwise known as the Television and Radio Industries Club, whose members, per their official website, “embraces the communication, entertainment, manufacturing, warranty insurance and service sectors from programme makers and broadcasters to radio producers and makers.” The organization does a number of different things, so any opportunity for some love for them is definitely an honor.

Meanwhile, there’s some love that can also be handed down to the series’ main star in Aidan Turner, who was nominated recently by the Irish Film & Television Academy for their IFTA Film and Drama Awards. The category here is Actor in a Leading Role in Drama, and the Irish actor is up against Dara Devaney for An Klondike, Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders, James Nesbitt  for The Secret and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor for Trial of the Century. We don’t have enough of an understanding of IFTA Film and Drama Awards voting patterns to know whether or not he has a reasonable chance at taking home the trophy here, but we’ve also learned that it is pretty darn impossible to ever write out someone of Turner’s caliber as a contender. (For those who missed it, we also wrote recently about a Caitriona Balfe – IFTA nomination.)

In general, the importance of recognition cannot be underscored enough when it comes to making your show appeal to new audiences, and helping people discover it from all walks of like that maybe did not previously. Poldark is hardly suffering in the ratings, but if you love the show, why not continue to try and get the word out as much as humanly possible?
