The Flash season 3: Are Barry, Iris engaged? Is a WestAllen wedding coming?

Are Barry, Iris engaged -

Mrs. Carter: Are Barry, Iris engaged — officially, this time?

Going into Tuesday night’s new episode of The Flash, this was a question that was raised based on the cliffhanger at the end of this past episode. Barry popped the question to her before things started to hit the fan, and at the start of the episode, we got our answer: She said yes! It was surprising that a part of the moment took place off-camera in terms of her reaction, but for all WestAllen fans out there, this was still music to everyone’s ears.

If there was one question that was still raised, it was why Barry didn’t ask Joe for his blessing in advance. This was something that was raised over the course of the episode, and the answer Barry had was simply that the engagement happened in the moment. He didn’t ask Joe simply because he got carried away. We do think that he would’ve said yes, mostly because of the close relationship that the two parties have.

Following this, one of the questions that was floating around out there is whether or not we were going to see a Barry / Iris wedding this season. Ultimately, there could be a couple of different variables in that, including the fact that the two have to figure out a way to survive at the hands of Savitar still. The God of Speed is serving as the Big Bad of the season, and we already know what the future holds there. We were not sure if there was even going to be time for a wedding before the battle against the villain, and we said that with the knowledge that Barry and Wally could be the world’s fastest wedding planners.

Another Question – Well, it’s all about whether or not the two STAY engaged, given that Barry in part proposed to ensure that the future would be changed and she wouldn’t be killed by Savitar.

Due to Iris deciding that she wanted to be with Barry out of love, she eventually decided that the engagement may not be the best idea … but that’s just for now. This ended the wedding speculation … once again, for now.

Make no mistake though that we do expect a wedding to happen eventually, especially since Iris West-Allen was in those newspaper headlines. Who cares if the destiny changed? We still care about the original destiny first and foremost. Let’s just hope that the team figures out a way to change it in proper.
