Hawaii Five-0: When to watch for potential season 8 renewal
Still, we’ll stress this time and time again until the cows come home: It’s easy to feel confident in the fact that this is a show likely on its way back. With the current ratings what they are, it’s hard to imagine the show going anywhere but back onto the CBS schedule for another batch of episodes.
Now, the question becomes when you could end up seeing the show get the official renewal, and for the time being, there is no clear answer on that other than “hopefully at some point this month.” This is a network that likes to do large renewals of many of their shows at once, and they like to do it prior to the upfronts in May. Therefore, we do think that a Hawaii Five-0 season 8 could be announced at some point soon, especially given that the previous renewal was announced in March 2016. We’re even more confident about the return this year than we were the last time that we were in this situation.
Now, will the show actually do 25 episodes again? That’s the question that is always worth wondering, since it’s remarkable that the show still does this in an era where there are such smaller episode orders being issued. We’d be grateful just to have another 22-episode season, so getting anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. One of the reasons why these larger orders are even possible is likely the simple fact that this is a show with a rather hefty cast of characters. In being able to alternate between so many different people, you allow yourself a little more freedom and a little bit more time to focus on everyone.
