Call the Midwife season 6, episode 7 sneak peek: Nurse Crane’s debates

Crane -

In this Call the Midwife season 6, episode 7, we’re going to be seeing more drama — and also some debates over childbirth.

Specifically with that, we’re referencing what you are going to be seeing with Nurse Crane during this episode as she does her best in order to convince a mother to have her child in the hospital. This is a mother who seems to be concerned with a wide array of other things, including the specific times of day that she would like to be seen. We do understand that she is influenced by a different set of circumstances than most, but this doesn’t quite change the fact that welcoming a child does tend to come at some of the most inopportune times.

Meanwhile, this preview also continues the thalidomide storyline (as previously discussed), as Dr. Turner tries to help a family cope with caring for a child who was born with many of the aftereffects of the drug. They are having a hard time getting her into a school, and therefore, she becomes a bit of a face of a larger, emotional movement. This is going to be a tough story for Turner to face, mostly because this is the sort of thing that he wishes that he’d discovered sooner. Had he been able to do that, odds are that he could’ve done a whole lot more in order to properly stop it.

In the end, almost everything appears as though we’re going to be set for a pretty powerful, emotional episode that delivers almost everything that you would want. Call the Midwife season 6, episode 7 will have moments of pain, but we’re willing to wager that there will be moments of hope somewhere in there, as well. This is a show that likes to take on a wide array of challenges, and doesn’t have a tendency to leave itself in a position where there is nothing on the other side of the horizon.
