We know that this is not a political show by any means. Yet, we have to think that there is little coincidence that Russia is the setting for part of the story next week. It’s almost unavoidable in this current climate, even if the story in “Independence, USA” next week isn’t related to anything going on in the country at all. We suppose one of the other big questions right now is just how Tom Keen is holding up after thinking previously that this mission of his was going to be short-lived and he would be back with his wife Liz sooner rather than later.
Synopsis – “After a plane crashes in the Ural Mountains, Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Nez (Tawny Cyprus) go undercover in Russia to infiltrate a mysterious, top-secret military facility. Meanwhile, Scottie (Famke Janssen) enlists Mr. Solomon (Edi Gathegi) to find answers about her husband.
The Scottie storyline this time around makes sense just because we knew that this was something that she was going to do in mine. While we started off the series with her unaware about whether or not Tom was secretly her son, we have a hard time thinking that the show is going to end in that same sort of space. There have to be some further answers coming on the subject.
Promo – This gives you a much better sense as to precisely what is coming up for Tom in Russia, as he finds himself in a town that feels eerily a lot like America. (Well, here’s a dose of politics for you.) This video absolutely makes this episode look all sorts of interesting and complex.
