’24: Legacy’ episode 5 preview: Carter, Grimes keep the search alive

24 LegacyTo call “24: Legacy” a methodical series would be making a gross understatement. Given that you are looking at a story being told in such a singular way, you have to hope that with every hour you take a few baby steps forward towards the answers and the information that you so desperately seek.

For Eric Carter and Ben Grimes on this series, what they are currently seeking more than anything else is some sort of opportunity in order to properly figure out how to locate the terrorists that they’ve been hunting — you know, the ones connected to their past overseas who have been causing them so much chaos so far on the show. To go along with this further, you’ll see some continued developments in the story of Amira, otherwise known as the vestigial tail of the series. We’re not entirely sure why it’s there or at the very least why we’re seeing as much of it as we are, but it’s one of those things that will (hopefully) make a lot more sense to us as we get closer to the end of the season.

Synopsis – “Carter and Grimes try to make a deal with the leader of a smuggling ring in order to find out the location of the terrorists for whom they’ve been searching. Meanwhile, Amira and Khasan (guest star Themo Melikidze) get a visit from an unexpected guest, while progress is made on the leak.”

Will there be some reveals made in this episode? We hope so, mostly because this is something that “Legacy” so far needs if it wants to clear the next hurdle and be thought of as more quintessential “24” than it is at present. The show is very good, but it is still in need of something to help cause it to leap more towards the iconic status of the original Kiefer Sutherland version of the show.
