‘The Walking Dead’ season 7 teaser gives you more Carol, Rick / Michonne

With the premiere of “The Walking Dead” inching ever closer, AMC is starting to give you more and more reasons to be excited. Let’s just say that there are quite a few in the new teaser below!

In this preview, you can see the focus on the future for many of our beloved characters — and also the future that they’re trying to build for the future generation. We’ve mentioned the words “suicide mission” in the past as a apt description for what is precisely going on here, and we do think that it works. After all, just consider for a minute here everything that the crew is up against. Negan and the Saviors far outnumber them, and it’s going to be difficult to get that edge.

There are some specific moments in this preview that should nonetheless make you smile.

1. Seeing Carol – Yep, just seeing her is enough to us excited.

2. The Rick / Michonne moment – Without Glenn and Maggie (tear), these two are pretty officially the show’s signature couple. we’re going to have to keep rooting for the two of them to figure this out in the midst of the surrounding craziness.

3. Spiky walkers – We mentioned this when we wrote about the shorter version of this preview recently, but this may be in the top five list of “creepiest walkers we’ve seen so far.”

As a whole, there’s a lot to look forward to, including the prospect of having an arc that is a little less about isolating the characters, and a little bit more about bringing them together with a unified goal. The time of them all off doing their own thing is going to be over … at least for the time being. Who knows what some of the plans are going to be entering the eight season? The show’s already been renewed.
