‘Bones’ season 12, episode 7 preview: Ryan O’Neal returns; concerns over Max’s future

Bones -Next week, “Bones” is going to be bringing to the table a little bit of a good news / bad news situation. Let’s start with the positive, since it does bring a smile to our faces: We’re going to be seeing Ryan O’Neal return to the show! Now, let’s talk for a minute about the bad: It certainly does look as though there are reasons to worry about Max’s future. Often when you see someone like him hide a condition from people that he cares about, what it means effectively is that they’re worried about themselves and don’t want other people to do the same. Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing that you should tell people about.

Below, we’ve got some additional news below from “The Scare in the Score,” which is going to also contain a story that traces back to Booth’s past — something that the show’s continued to find unique ways to incorporate as of late.

Synopsis – “When a series of corpses with ties to Booth’s former Army unit appear around D.C., Booth must dive into his past to find the killer before the killer finds Booth. Meanwhile, Brennan’s father, Max, hides a serious medical procedure from Brennan, leaving her to grapple with her father’s trust and mortality, as well as her family being in danger.”

Whatever happens within this episode, it could set up some big events as we move forward in the future, given that the episode that is coming beyond this is entitled “The Grief in the Girl.” If you weren’t worried enough about Max before this, odds are that you are now.

One other thing worth noting over the course of the next episode is that we’re going to be entering the official halfway point of the season. Given that this is the last year of show, that makes things all the more emotional.

Promo – Interestingly, this video chooses to make the focus here a little bit more about the case from Booth’s past — one that puts his life in jeopardy — more so than anything that is going on when it comes to Brennan’s father. We’ll see if there is serious danger here, or if this is all misdirect, when the show comes back on the air.
