‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 16 preview: Walter, Sylvester, and a game of chess

Tonight, “Scorpion” season 3 gave us a new episode entitled “Sharknerdo” that can be described using one word and one word only: Fun. Basically, we had a story that put Walter and Paige adrift using a makeshift raft, and one where they also had to deal with sharks. Remember the title for this episode, people! You had to assume that this was coming.

Next week, the show is going to be bringing you a different episode in “Keep It in Check, Mate” that absolutely kills it again when it comes to the title. Beyond that, we also are going to see a really fun hour where you get a chance to see Walter and Sylvester far from home, and probably in a certain degree of danger at the same time.

Synopsis – “Walter and Sylvester enter an international chess competition under cover on foreign soil for Team Scorpion in order to extricate a U.S. spy before her identity is exposed.”

Remember here that this is “Scorpion,” and this is a show that never tends to operate in a way where things are going to go according to plan. Walter and Sylvester are inevitably going to find themselves in big trouble, and as a result of that, we’re going to see them probably scramble to keep their heads above water. (Yes, it’s probably a little too soon that we use this analogy given the course of events tonight.)

If there’s one additional tool that Walter could have at his disposal moving into the next new episode, it is his rebuilt relationship with Paige. The two used their experience out at sea to get back on the same page again, and she will help to further compensate for any sort of weaknesses that Walter runs into while being out in the field.
