Looking at ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8, episode 15 and beyond

The bad news for many fans of “NCIS: Los Angeles” right now should be fairly obvious: There is no new episode tonight. Did you really think that we were going to see one airing opposite the Super Bowl? This is one of the biggest events of the entire year, and as a result of that, this is not something that anyone wants to run up against.

In addition to that, this is not the only time in which there is going to be a hiatus for the crime drama throughout the month of February. Because of the Grammy Awards airing on CBS next week, the entire Sunday lineup is going to be preempted — you will get a chance to see new episodes starting again when you get around to Sunday, February 19 — but only for that week! Consider this episode the prime opportunity to see what happens to Kensi after she finds herself stuck in that terrifying hostage situation. That was the cliffhanger for this past episode, and we’re left to wonder precisely how in the world she is going to be able to recover from that.

After this episode, “NCIS: LA” will be taking a brief one-week hiatus again due to the Academy Awards, and then it will officially be back to air another run of episodes on Sunday, March 5. Following this hiatus, there will be new episodes for much of the remainder of the season, with potentially a couple of small hiatuses here and there. By the time we get around to March, there may also be a chance to dive into a very different sort of mythology given that the mole story can theoretically only last so long, especially now that we are at a point in which we’ve gotten so many answers as it is.

If we had it our play, we’d be moving into a story where everyone is okay, and also one where Deeks and Kensi are starting to plan out their wedding. Fingers crossed this happens!
