‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18 spoilers: Tate Donovan set to appear
While you await the landmark 400th episode of “Law & Order: SVU” — otherwise known as “Motherly Love” directed by Mariska Hargitay — why not take a look at the latest casting news?
The following should especially be great for fans of “The OC” and “Damages,” as Tate Donovan is coming on board for a high-profile guest spot! According to a report coming in via Entertainment Weekly, the actor is going to be appearing in an upcoming April episode as a billionaire from the Wall Street world who finds himself involved in a rape case. Is this another case of another powerful person thinking that they’re too big for the law? We’ll have to wait and see, but that’s what it feels like on the surface? (To think, we’ve already got a good slice of evil Wall Street tycoons over the on the Showtime series “Billions.”)
Before Donovan’s appearance comes along, there are several other cases that Benson and company are going to be taking on, whether it be one that brings Fin back to his past or also one that shines a light on the extreme levels of hazing that can go on in youth sports. There is also still out there “Unstoppable,” the political episode that features Gary Cole as a powerful candidate who finds much of his election efforts overrun by scandal. This was originally scheduled to air this past fall, but at this point, it’s not entirely clear when NBC is going to put it on the air. We just hope that they do — after all, Dick Wolf is careful to remind us time and time again that this show is a work of fiction.
If you haven’t seen it, one other place you can check Donovan out is in some recent episodes of “The Man in the High Castle.”
What do you think about Donovan’s casting? Be sure to share now in the comments! As we mentioned at the start of the article, the show is getting set to celebrate a milestone episode.
