‘Top Chef: Charleston’ episode 10 preview: Shrimp the focus of Sudden Death Quickfire

Top Chef -Just when you wondered if the Sudden Death Quickfires were going to be done on this season of “Top Chef,” we now bring you this: One coming on Thursday night’s new episode.

The sneak peek below offers you up a very good opportunity to see what exactly this one is going to be all about. The remaining chefs are taken out to do a little bit of shrimping on the South Carolina coast, and we have to assume that every step of the way, they were aware that this was probably going to be leading to some sort of cook-off. The one thing that they probably were not altogether sure of at the time was that one of them could be eliminated on the other side of it.

We do certainly think that this Quickfire has to be a bummer given that it seems like otherwise such a beautiful day! You’re getting a chance to cook with some of the freshest shrimp imaginable, and you’re doing it in a lovely outdoor environment.

At this point in time, it’s also rather difficult to know who is going to be the chef in the most danger. We feel for now like Brooke and Sheldon are the two favorites to win the entire season, so we’re partial to saying that the two of them are both probably going to be safe for a little while — then again, crazier things have happened. Sylva is the only first-time contestant remaining in the actual competition at present (Jamie is still fighting on “Last Chance Kitchen”), so the part of us who loves the underdogs of course wants to see him stick around a little while longer.

In the end, let’s just say that there are some challenges on the show that we really wish we were a judge for, and this is almost certainly one of them. With these ingredients, how would you NOT want to have one of these plates?

What do you think about the focus of this Quickfire, and who do you think is in danger? Share your thoughts below, and head over here to get some further news when it comes to “Top Chef” right now. (Photo: Bravo.)
