‘Reign’ season 4 spoilers: Mary’s out for revenge in new promo
With the fourth season of “Reign” coming on The CW later this month, the network’s starting to ramp up some of their promotional efforts, and what includes the new promo below!
In this preview, there is one thing dominating in terms of attention, and that is the subject of vengeance. Can Mary get it? History’s clearly not on her side given what we know happens with Elizabeth, but the show’s presentation of events should remain fascinating nonetheless. The impetus behind Mary’s attitude stems from Elizabeth’s order of execution on Lola, and her quest for further power is understandable. She is not a Queen to be trifled with, and she’s evolved significantly from the character that we saw during the third season of the show. She’s experienced all sorts of tragedy in her life, but understands more than ever the sort of responsibility that she has for her people. She’s not going to be slowing down at any point in the near future.
Romantically, we also know that this is a big season for Mary, as we’ll see her make some decisions and wrestle with some guilt that comes with moving on from Francis. In some ways, the fact that she has guilt is one of the reasons why Mary is such a fantastic character for this show — she’s still relatable and human, and you still feel for her. She’s not just someone who is cold to the world around her; she’s just learned how to compartmentalize all of that better.
Given that this is the final season, and there is only a specific amount of time for the show to tell its story, we have a feeling that it’s going to be paced in a way that really moves the story forward rapidly. With that, we have a feeling that you’re not going to want to miss a single episode of this. If you do, odds are you’ll start feeling confused as to what’s happening.
