‘Teen Wolf’ season 6B: Colton Haynes, Crystal Reed, Arden Cho top our cameo wishlist
The sixth season of “Teen Wolf” reached the official halfway point on Tuesday night with an episode that gave you a sense of closure on everything from Douglas to Stiles — as a matter of fact, one of the biggest surprises was just how much closure that we had on various things over the course of the hour. We didn’t have a traditional cliffhanger, and in many ways, you could have considered the episode a series finale if you really wanted to. After all, everyone seems to be moving forward and has a chance to be happy.
Well … it’s not going to be that easy. There are still ten more episodes to come, and these installments (airing this summer) could offer up a more panoramic sense of pain and darkness. Before closing the door, the show is going to be dragging its characters through hell one last time. We also know that you’re going to see some returning characters — Scott’s father was confirmed to be making a return appearance some time ago, and executive producer Jeff Davis notes to TVLine that you will get a chance to see other familiar faces. However, he’s being coy on who they are going to be.
To us, the top of the wishlist has to be people like Colton Haynes and Crystal Reed, who are some of the more-notable departures that we’ve seen on the show over time. We don’t know if either will happen, but it would be a nice tribute for both of them to make to a show that really did further their careers. Personally, we do also think it’d be nice to get another appearance from Arden Cho (Kira) or Jill Wagner (Kate Argent). With final seasons, you do want to celebrate your show’s legacy, especially if you’re a show like this that is so much about personal growth and overcoming odds. In order to move forward, sometimes you have to understand the past.
We’d be surprised if MTV or Davis confirmed any other returnees in the weeks ahead, mostly because it makes way more sense for the show to just surprise you when the episode airs. We do think there’s a tendency for people to announce too much in advance, and we say that as someone who benefits from being able to announce some of these names early.
