‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ season 2: Will Netflix bring you more Lemony Snicket stories?
On Friday, Netflix brought us something super-fun, super-adventurous, and also something that Lemony Snicket fans have long been craving: A proper adaptation of “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” You’ve got the incredibly versatile Neil Patrick Harris front and center, and also the creativity of one of the best providers of content currently out there.
Given that there are SO many more stories to tell, can you assume that the show will be getting a second season? Nothing is 100% confirmed just yet, but the sentiment we get surrounding the show is that Netflix is going to want to create more episodes. One of the things that the show has going for it is that it appeals to all audiences; there’s a family market out there, but older viewers can also dive into it and enjoy it. This show is a prime example of a TV series provider giving you something that feels almost more like a movie in terms of both its appeal, and the way in which it can be watched.
There is no immediate timetable, unfortunately, to when some renewal news will come out (there never is). Our hope is that Netflix will choose to do so within the next month, once they get a good sense of what their viewership truly is. If the show wants to come on the air at around the same point in 2018, they will need to get into production most likely in the late spring or summer. This is a little bit different than network TV, where they can film a couple of months in advance and still be in production while the episodes are airing. They’re putting everything out there all at once!
If this series does do well, we hope that this could usher in a new era of programming catered to this audience. Given that we are losing shows like “Pretty Little Liars,” “Teen Wolf,” and “Switched at Birth” over the next few months, we do really need more shows like “A Series of Unfortunate Events” around.
What do you think: Should we get more “A Series of Unfortunate Events” on the air? Let us know some of your thoughts on the subject below! (Photo: Netflix.)

We loved the first season. Saw it all in 4 days. My 15 year old son and 11 year old daughter could not get enough. I personally loved the well known actors and the quirkiness off it all. My kids love the mystery and it seemed like you were watching a movie. Such a fun series! So well done! More please!
