Dule Hill says ‘Psych’ reunion still possible

Psych -If you loved USA’s “Psych” as much as we did, odds are you spend your days thinking about what crazy nicknames Shawn Spencer’s come up with for Burton Guster over the past several years. Or, maybe you want to see what sort of personal developments have been made in their lives, whether Lassiter is truly happy, or if some of the characters are going to continue to be in San Francisco rather than relishing life under the Santa Barbara skies.

We’ve made our own hopes for a reunion rather clear over the years — and one of the show’s stars in Dule Hill makes it clear that more episodes are something that are still on the mind of the cast. Speaking (per TV Guide) while promoting the upcoming CBS series “Doubt” at the TCA Winter Press Tour, the man behind Gus had the following to say:

“Oh, I think there’s definitely something coming. I love the whole Psych world. [James] Roday is my buddy. I love him dearly and we have a great time working together, so I’m hoping that [series creator] Steve Franks and the whole USA team will come together and make something happen.”

So how do you make this happen when many of the cast members are working on different things? Our feeling is that you do something that we hope is becoming more and more of a trend: Short runs of 6-8 episodes. You can film them in the summer or some other time when the cast has a whole in the schedule, and then maybe come back and do more every couple of years like “Sherlock” or “The X-Files.” Of course, we’d be thrilled if we got a TV movie and that was it; so long as we’re getting more “Psych,” it’s hard to complain. The final season did have some good episodes, but it did feel like the ending was a little rushed and with Maggie Lawson gone from several episodes, it didn’t really feel like the same show we came to enjoy for the majority of its run.

Do you want to get more “Psych” in the future, and what do you want it to look like if it does come back? Share below, and we’ll have a little more news for you the moment that we hear about it. (Photo: USA.)
