‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 13 is not new tonight, but here are some early details…

Scorpion -The third season of “Scorpion” still has a lot of episodes still to go — that is what happens when you’ve got 25 episodes ordered by CBS for the year! It’s the biggest order that we’ve seen so far for the show, and we hope that this will lead to a lot of interesting, character-driven stories coming up.

Unfortunately, there is no new episode of the show airing tonight, and we have to presume that this is due to ESPN broadcasting the college football title game between Atlanta and Clemson. That game is a ratings monster, and nobody really wants to run up against it in terms of competition. To help make up for that absence today, what we do have for you below are some of the first details for “Faux Money Maux Problems,” the next new episode of the show that is going to be airing in one week’s time. There’s going to be an intense case that throws the entire team into the midst of a vast counterfeiting operation, but what they may uncover along the way is that they will need some help from an unlikely source in Paige’s mother.

Take a look at the just-released synopsis below courtesy of CBS:

“When Team Scorpion is duped into producing counterfeit money for a foreign entity intent on ruining the U.S. economy, Paige must rely on her mother Veronica’s (Lea Thompson) skills as a grifter to save them.”

We’ve now seen the Veronica character in a couple of episodes of the show, and by and large, she’s been very funny to watch — but, you can argue that she still hasn’t redeemed herself just yet given that the last time we saw her, she was convincing Ralph to con hipsters by selling them “gourmet” ice cream. This is her best opportunity that we’ve seen to date for her to use her powers for good rather than evil.

What do you think about the idea of this episode, and do you think that Veronica will actually prove to be an asset here? Share now in the comments, and head over to the link here for some other news on the series. (Photo: CBS.)
