‘Outlander’ season 3 spoilers: Caitriona Balfe dishes more on print-shop scene

Outlander -It’s easy to be saddened by Caitriona Balfe not winning a Golden Globe last night for “Outlander.” She’s sensational in the role, and when you look at episodes like “Faith” and “Dragonfly in Amber,” it is easy to justify why she would be heading back to work with a trophy in hand.

Alas, this was not the case, but if there is a positive way to spin this, it is by reminding you that this is far from the end of the road for her in terms of the show, and potentially getting recognition for her work. The third season of the show will be premiering this spring, and there are many fantastic moments and scenes from the Diana Gabaldon books to come — including a certain print-shop reunion with Jamie Fraser that will potentially bring a cavalcade of emotions with it.

In speaking to Entertainment Weekly about this said scene, and what many viewers out there should expect from it, Balfe had the following message to pass along:

“I think it was written very beautifully … Matt B Roberts wrote it. It has every emotion in it. The excitement, the tentativeness, the nerves, everything. I think it’s really beautiful.”

Will it be enough to make up for a long stretch of anticipation? That is what we have to hope for. We know that Balfe and Sam Heughan filmed a large chunk of season 3 separately, but that does not necessarily mean anything when it comes to how the story plays out on the show. Filming for this series in particular tends to be a little more non-linear, which is one of the reasons why they tend to begin production so much earlier than the majority of network shows that are out there. Maybe this reunion won’t happen until the midway point of the season, or maybe things will be sorted in a way that we see it earlier.

Regardless of if you’ve read the books or not, there is much to look forward to when it comes to the third season. Now, we just have to wait for a premiere date and a trailer (which we certainly hope we’ll get over the next month or so).
