‘Reign’ season 4 premiere spoilers: Adelaide Kane’s Mary wants revenge

Reign -On Friday, February 10, the fourth season of “Reign” is (finally) going to be premiering on The CW, and as a result of that, you will have a chance to see how the story for Queen Mary — or at least this show’s interpretation of said story — is going to start to wind down. We’ve finally made the move back towards Scotland, and with that comes new characters and complicated relationships. With the recent circumstances in mind, it also means that we’ll see Adelaide Kane’s character bear a certain desire for revenge.

If you look below, you can see some of the preliminary details from “With Friends Like These,” the upcoming premiere episode that will feature the aftermath of Lola’s death (Mary wants revenge) and test many of these characters like never before. Take a look at the recent synopsis below for a little more insight on what is to come:

“Queen Mary (Adelaide Kane), unsure who to trust, tests her brother James (Dan Jeannotte) to ensure his loyalty after hearing of his meeting with John Knox (Jonathan Goad). Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) agrees to help Lord Darnley (Will Kemp), in an attempt to sabotage the powerful suitor’s relationship with Mary.”

While it feels certain that there are many viewers out there who are still going to be holding a candle out for Francis and the relationship that he and Mary shared, the series doesn’t seem to be that interested in spending a lot of time looking extensively at the past. Instead, we are moving forward, and there will be some more suitors that the character faces as we near the end.

There is some sadness knowing that the end of the series is near after such a great run; yet, simultaneously, there is a certain looseness in knowing that we no longer have to worry about ratings or if The CW is going to ax the show before its time. There will be a chance for a fitting end here, and with that in mind, it is all the easier to sit back and just enjoy the show. Hopefully, there are also going to be now some more footage from the show released in the coming weeks.
