‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: Will Arnold Schwarzenegger actually be the one firing people?
Long before this season or even the celebrity component to “The Celebrity Apprentice” first came about, we know that the question in the title is the one that has been on the minds of so many people out there: Just how much firing does Arnold Schwarzenegger actually do? Is he really the one pulling the strings, or is there someone behind the curtain ready and willing to do what’s necessary to send someone home?
While we certainly know that conspiracy theories often are a whole lot more fun than the truth, it doesn’t appear this time around that there is any such theory at all. Speaking in a new interview with TVInsider, the former Governor makes it clear that he actually is the one who makes the final call about who stays and who goes — though there is some help along the way:
“The decision is totally up to me, but I don’t like to run things as a one-man show. I believe in a lot of collaboration. Without coaches and teachers to open up doors, I never would have had a chance in bodybuilding or Hollywood. If anyone thinks you can be a star by yourself, they’re an idiot.”
For the most part, we don’t think the actual act of firing people is all that difficult of an exercise, given that it is typically fairly obvious in a given week who some of the worst-performing celebrities are. Yet, at the same exact time, we do imagine that there will be a few controversial decisions here and there — in the past, one of the more common practices was that the celebrity who was the more exciting on the show stayed overt he one that was more or less boring. We’ll have to wait and see precisely if that tradition holds as we move forward into the future.
