‘Scream Queens’ cast rallies behind Billie Lourd after mother Carrie Fisher’s passing

Billie -

Today is a day that so many people out there are feeling a significant amount of pain, as we are all still mourning the terrible loss of Carrie Fisher. However, none may be feeling it more than her daughter Billie Lourd, an actress in her own right best known for her work on “Scream Queens,” which recently wrapped its second season just one week ago.

There are many things that come out of appearing on a TV show, and one of the biggest ones is that it builds an extended family. Therefore, we are hardly surprised to see some of Lourd’s co-stars from the Fox series come out in support of her, whether it be Lea Michele, Glen Powell, or Jamie Lee Curtis. All of them came to spend a great deal of time with her, and in turn came to respect and love her. As a result, they are devastated for their friend just as so many are devastated about losing an acting icon.

Lourd was actually the first person who confirmed the sad news of her mother’s passing earlier today via a statement from family spokesperson Simon Halls:

“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning.”

As we mentioned previously in the article, this news is devastating, and we hope that Lourd (who had a brief appearance in her mother’s latest movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) is able to be surrounded by people who love her from both her professional career and also her personal life. We’ll continue to send all of our thoughts and condolences her way. (Photo: Fox.)
