ABC’s ’20/20′ set to air George Michael special Tuesday night

The past few days have proven to be devastating when it comes to losing beloved entertainers. Today, the world tragically lost Carrie Fisher, and this is coming mere days after the news first came out regarding the loss of music legend George Michael.

Tonight at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, ABC is going to be doing their part to pay tribute to Michael courtesy of a “20/20” special entitled “George Michael: Faith, Freedom, and His Final Hours.” Hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, the special is going to do its part to look back at the life of the legendary singer through performances, interviews from those close to Michael, and other footage collected over the years.

The video HERE serves as a small indication to what you are going to end up seeing on the show, but we imagine for the most part that this is going to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to some of the tributes that will come pouring out over the course of the next several days and months. The reality is that many of us are still having the news set in, and it is made even harder because of the fact that so much of this is coming over the course of the holiday season. Although this time of year is typically one of celebration, we have instead faced so much loss.

What we know is that we are going to miss Michael immensely, and we are sure that the sentiment is likely the same for many other people who remember him fondly for not just all of his musical work, but also his activism, what he stood for, and his humility at times when it comes to taking on charitable causes.
