‘The Bachelor’ video: Nick Viall becomes ‘St. Nick’ for Christmas promos

There is a new season of “The Bachelor” coming your way in early January, but before we get around to that, why don’t we have a little bit of fun courtesy of a couple of new promos?

If you look below, you can see via the show’s official Twitter account a pair of videos that make it clear precisely how ABC wants to envision their leading man in Nick Viall — especially during the holiday season! They’ve got him adorned in a red suit and Santa cap, while doing his best to appeal to a certain demographic of viewers in the audience.

We’re also seeing so much more of an effort from this this time around to appeal to more of an edgier crowd, as they’re not even trying to pretend here that Ben is perfect like they did with Ben Higgins last season. They’re showing that he’s daring and are having fun with his history of being controversial — oh, and they also have a few seconds of him in the shower, just because this is the sort of thing that they love to show in some of this promotional material.

Nick’s new season will feature thirty women who, from the get-go, are going to do their part to try to win him over, with some potentially-mixed results. We’ve seen enough from this show over the years to know that there will be some disasters the first night, one woman who makes it far despite causing problems with almost everyone else, and then a little bit of romance here and there along the way. Here’s to hoping that Nick gets what he wants out of this, and that he and a potential new fiancee are spending Christmas together in some form today. (Remember, he finished filming this before Thanksgiving.)
