Christmas Day movies: ‘Elf,’ ‘The Polar Express,’ ‘Scrooged,’ ‘A Christmas Story,’ and more

Elf -Today is Christmas, and with that, of course there are several different holiday-themed movies that you can check out! There are marathons on networks like Lifetime and Freeform, but for the sake of this article, we wanted to highlight a few of our favorites that you can check out — which of course includes “Elf,” given that this will probably be one of our personal favorites in the Christmas realm until the end of time.

As with all of these other holiday-themed articles that we’ve written over the course of the past two days, all times listed below are Eastern.

“The Polar Express” – It’ll be starting up on Freeform at 1:25 p.m. — unfortunately, you may have already missed it if you’re on the East Coast.

“Elf” – As we mentioned, it’s one of our favorites, and this one is going to be starting off at 5:40 p.m. on Freeform once again.

“A Christmas Story” – This is a huge tradition for TNT and TBS, as they are going to be continuing to broadcast the classic for the remainder of Christmas Day. If you love it, then be sure to get your BB guns ready and keep the neighbors’ dogs at bay!

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – It’s always a crowd-pleaser, and it’s certainly ridiculous. It’ll be airing on Freeform at 7:45 p.m. (in case you can’t tell, we do think that this network gives you some of the best movies).

“Scrooged” – Starting at 9:55 p.m., you can cap off your holiday with an adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. This is one of those works that can be altered and re-done many times over, and we’re not sure that it would ever get particularly boring.

As we mentioned earlier in the article, Happy Holidays to everyone out there! Also, thanks again for continuing to read and support this site — it really is a collaborative business, and we couldn’t do anything like this were it not for you.
