‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 9 video: First look at Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki in ‘First Blood’

Supernatural -

As of right now, “Supernatural” may be on hiatus, and the bad news is that you still have more than a month to go until the show returns on Thursday, January 26.

When it does, rest assured that there are going to be some great things on the horizon! The promo below offers up the first extended look at “First Blood,” an episode that’s going to be exceptionally crazy just because the premise behind it is so different and unique from many other “Supernatural” stories over the years. We’re going to see things kick off with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) behind bars, which is as a result of everything that happened with the whole Lucifer plot in “LOTUS.” While these two may have been out to do what was clearly good in their mind, that’s a pretty difficult thing to convince other people of, especially when what you are doing is really beyond their capacity for understanding.

So how are the boys going to be rescued? Judging from this promo, it looks like a job for Castiel and Mary Winchester! There’s something very fun about this pairing, and we’re thrilled to further see it explored on the show. They are two people who really don’t have much in the way of exposure to the world over the past several decades, and they have to find a way to think like your everyday human and figure out a way in which to get the guys out. Of course, we don’t expect either Sam or Dean to sit idly by, either, and allow themselves to be doomed to spending the foreseeable future behind bars.

One way or another, we imagine that the show is going to figure out a way to get the guys out and get the show a little more back to normal. After all, can you really envision the series with these two captured for an extended period of time?
