‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8 spoilers: ‘The Lying Game’ alum to appear in Ian Somerhalder-directed episode

TVD -We recently saw Paul Wesley direct yet another episode of “The Vampire Diaries” before the show went on a little bit of a hiatus; now, his co-star Ian Somerhalder is doing the same exact thing for the show’s first episode back in January. It’s a chance to see precisely what happens when Damon and Stefan both kickstart their new missions working under Cade, which basically means bringing him a bunch of tormented souls. It’s a dirty job, but it was either them doing it or damning Caroline’s children to all sorts of torment in the years to come. They didn’t have the hearts for that.

If you’re interested in a few more details about this particular hour, check out the just-released synopsis via The CW below:

“Stefan and Damon attend an anger management support group looking for their next victim. Sybil is still alive and teaching a group of high school students who she’ll later use as leverage to get Caroline to locate a historical artifact that can be used against her. Meanwhile, Stefan and Damon continue their commitment to Cade as they test the morals of a young doctor, Tara.”

As for some casting news, TVLine reports that former “The Lying Game” actress Alexandra Chando is going to be appearing throughout this hour as the character, who is going to be playing the part of this young doctor — who of course we’re already fearful for given who she’s going up against. As for the poor anger management group, this just feels like a recipe for disaster to throw some people into this world where they have to deal with Damon and Stefan.

Remember, there are only 16 episodes in this final season for the show, but we do anticipate the story moving along at a rather brisk pace.
