Is ‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 11 new tonight? On ‘Gift Horse’ and beyond

Secretary -Today is Christmas Day, and for many people out there, this is a case for some tremendous celebrations! Unfortunately, at the same exact time there is some bad news also coming out, as there is not going to be a new episode of “Madam Secretary,” or really any other regularly-scheduled network program, coming on for the night.

This is one of those occasions where we really don’t have to explain the reasoning for the preemption, other than just say that there are probably a thousand or so things that many families are probably going to be focusing on tonight other than regularly-scheduled programming.

For those of you out there who still have a craving for some scoop as a part of your holiday meal, here are a couple of morsels that we can hand down.

January 8 – The show returns with “Gift Horse,” an installment that mostly revolves around just that: A horse coming in as a gift, and a subsequent debate coming out in terms of what in the world to do with this said horse. She doesn’t want to come across as insulting, but at the same time keeping it could also represent something similar to other people.

January 15 – We’re going to have “The Detour,” which is a complicated story about Elizabeth and company heading to Africa in order to help in an aid mission, only to find China beating them to the punch. Who would’ve known that dueling relief packages could make for dramatic television? When it is the U.S. and China, all bets are off, and all indications in our mind suggest that this could get testy rather quickly if the wrong thing is said.

There is no episode on January 1 due to the New Year’s Day holiday.
