Nick Viall’s season of ‘The Bachelor’ will have aftershow … on Snapchat?

Nick -It feels clear to us at the moment that this is one of the most surprising news stories of the day: We’re going to be getting an aftershow for “The Bachelor” this season on Snapchat. It’s hardly a shock to get an aftershow itself, given that we had “Bachelor Live” this past season. But Snapchat? This is incredibly ironic, given the sole fact that this is what Kaitlyn Bristowe used at one point during her season of “The Bachelorette” to accidentally reveal that she had chosen Shawn Booth at the very end.

“Watch Party: The Bachelor” is the name of the new aftershow, which will premiere on Tuesday, January 3 and will live within the service for 24 hours. Per Deadline, you are going to see a wide array of comedians, show alumni, and other celebrities stopping by to discuss the show in some form.

What will happen with this show is not something that we in some ways fully know or understand, mostly because of the sole fact that we are not someone who actively uses Snapchat and therefore doesn’t have much of an understanding of how it works. Still, this announcement is further evidence that this is a market that ABC is coveting at the moment, and they recognize that utilizing Bachelor Nation is at the moment one of the best ways to try to get some of the lucrative audience that is there. With many of the other shows on the network struggling at the moment, you can argue that “The Bachelor” is more important than ever before.

The season, which features Nick Viall (who also ironically was on Kaitlyn’s season), is going to premiere starting on Monday, January 2. We’re going to have further news on it as we get closer and closer to it airing over at the link here.
