‘Scream Queens’ season 3: Should it be renewed?
Tonight on Fox, we are going to officially reach the end of the road for one of the network’s shows in “Scream Queens” for the season, and potentially also the series. We’ve got an episode entitled “Drain the Swamp” that is clearly titled that way on purpose. Granted, we don’t think that Donald Trump, who famously coined the phrase, is showing up — we just think that the series clearly wants us to think of all of the election hoopla while we prepare to watch the story play out.
In looking beyond tonight’s episode, there are some larger questions that remain. Specifically, is it possible that we could end up seeing the show renewed for another season?
We’ve said this before, and we don’t love beating a dead horse when this said dead horse doesn’t equate to great news — but, we have to report the news that is out there. So far, season 2 is down over 40% from season 1 in the 18-49 demographic, and this does not exactly do a whole lot for us in terms of inspiring confidence that the show is going to be renewed for another season. We’re going to remain hopeful just because we want to be, but we also have to be realistic about the show’s odds.
Unfortunately, one of the things that probably looks the worst for the show at the moment is simply that it is coming on the air just a few days before Christmas. If this was a show that Fox had an enormous amount of confidence in when it comes to its renewal odds, we personally think that they would be off the air tonight and saved until down the road.
If you’re a fan of the show, the best thing that you can do in order to get the word out is to continue to stay passionate. With that, we ask you this: Do you want to see Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, and the majority of the other cast members back on the air again? Vote in the poll below!
