‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10, episode 11 video: When good news for Bernadette is bad news for Amy

Baby -Thursday night marks the first “Big Bang Theory” episode since the start of the month, and based on all of the preliminary details, odds are that this one is going to be exceptionally entertaining.

The title here is “The Birthday Synchronicity,” which is a very clear reference to the fact that it is the birthday of both one Amy Farrah Fowler but also Howard and Bernadette’s new child. If you remember from last season, Amy’s birthday effectively means that the she and Sheldon will be sleeping  together, and she chooses to get ready for it by engaging in some “Harry Potter” cosplay.

Then, they get interrupted by the big news. Basically, the only thing that the synopsis gives away is that Howard and Bernadette will welcome their child in the episode, which odds are you already knew. The reports out there are that the show will not highlight the actual birth itself on-air, but will give you more of the experience leading up to it — and hopefully also the name afterwards. Can you imagine if we meet the child, but don’t actually get to know their name, over the course of the episode?

For those who care about such things, one of the interesting behind-the-scenes details about the episode is that it was directed by Nikki Lorre, daughter of series co-creator Chuck Lorre. This isn’t her first time directing on the show, but this is a particularly notable gig for her given the importance of the story. The majority of the show’s episodes are directed by Mark Cendrowski, with Anthony Rich occasionally stepping in here and there.

Hopefully, this will be an episode that lives up to almost a year’s worth of anticipation, in between some of the comedy teased in the promo and the special moment that comes from seeing Bernadette welcome someone into the world with Howard at her side.

We will be back on Thursday to review this more extensively, but for now, head over to check out some other recent “Big Bang Theory” news and reviews. (Photo: CBS.)
