‘Elementary’ season 5, episode 10 preview: Is Watson in danger in ‘Pick Your Poison’?

The fifth season of “Elementary” is going to be airing another new episode next week in “Pick Your Poison,” but the unfortunate news for one Joan Watson in particular is that she could be facing one of the most poisonous situations that she’s encountered ever since the start of the series. After all, if things go wrongly in this story, she could end up facing some serious consequences. She may be someone who’s been through a lot and overcome many obstacles, but how do you stop a DEA investigation into you when you cannot find the responsible culprit? All of a sudden, her back is up against the wall, and she has to figure out if there is a way that she can climb out of this while still in one piece.

Synopsis – “When Watson is implicated in a DEA investigation into doctors writing illegal prescriptions, she and Holmes search for the person using her medical license to sell drugs.”

CBS is not giving you a whole lot to go off of in advance, but they almost don’t need to here given that they have such a huge selling point stemming almost entirely from what is going on with Joan. So often on this show, there’s a need to share further details just because of the fact that you’re dealing with suspects and victims we know next to nothing about. Here, it’s a lot more personal.

Obviously, we don’t exactly think that Watson is guilty of anything here other than being a victim of someone else’s horrible scheme. The biggest thing that we are personally curious about, at least at present, is whether or not she was set up by someone she knows, or if there is someone unrelated out there committing these crimes against her. Either way, it’s easy to agree that this is a pretty sad situation for her, especially since it’s coming so soon after we saw her friend Shinwell Johnson be suspected of wrongdoing on the show.
