‘Blue Bloods’ season 7, episode 10 video: Jamie’s dilemma

On Friday night’s new episode of “Blue Bloods,” sad stories are going to be a theme for the hour in a wide array of forms. When it comes to Frank Reagan, he is going to have to figure out the right way to work with a longtime rival after the murder of this said man’s son.

For Jamie Reagan, meanwhile, the struggle is going to be a little bit different. As the sneak peek below makes it clear, he is going to have a hard time wrestling with the fact that he shot a mugger in self-defense who also happened to be a child of a former NYPD officer. There is obviously a sense of plurality with this story and the Frank one; both men are having to deal with the ramifications of something happening to a man who was someone’s son, and that is not going to be easy.

Yet, there is a right and wrong way of going about things, and this is in part what Henry tries to advise Jamie of here. He is the perfect person for this sort of sage advice given his own time in the force this season; it’s also rather nice that we are getting Henry involved in a few things here and there this season that are not just your standard dinner-table scenes.

Let’s just hope that Jamie and Frank both find a way to wrestle and deal with whatever sort of pain they find themselves dealing with over the course of the episode; given that Frank is not directly responsible for anything, it may be a little bit easier for him to bear.
