‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: First look at ‘Revenge’ alum Nick Wechsler

After a pretty lengthy hiatus that lasted part of last month and the entirety of this one, we’re happy to at least remind you that “Chicago PD” is going to be returning in some shape or form on January 3 for a two-night crossover between it and “Chicago Fire.” Not only that, but we’ve got a first look at one of the major players for said episode below.

This photo (via Entertainment Weekly) offers you up a quick tease at former “Revenge” star Nick Wechsler, who is set to recur throughout several episodes of the crime drama in the role of Kenny Rixton, a guy who will be stepping in for Intelligence when Ruzek heads undercover. Rixton has history with Voight working on the gang unit with him, so we’ve already got a certain degree of curiosity to see some of that relationship play out.

After all, who doesn’t want a little bit of a chance for Voight to discuss his past? The guy is hardly an open book…

Also, we’re excited about seeing Wechsler on the show simply because this should be a very different sort of role and show than what we’ve seen him in over the years. We’re not sure what his lasting impact on the series will be, but Intelligence is currently in a state of transition. In addition to Ruzek going undercover, the team may still be reeling in some ways from the departure of Antonio Dawson over the “Chicago Justice.” Burgess has a promotion up to Intelligence that may help to fill some of that void, but we’re expecting in general a rather different show and dynamic than what we’ve seen so far.
