‘MacGyver’ spoilers: Be prepared for a major disappearance
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that there is going to be some drama on “MacGyver” before the team is over; what may be a little more of a surprise is the idea of one of the show’s main characters may be someone who initiates much of it in some way.
The December 16 episode of the show is entitled “Scissors,” and based on the synopsis below, her skills as a hacker could come back to bite her in some way:
“MacGyver and Jack search for Riley, using a microwave and a power strip, after she mysteriously disappears and hacks into the NSA, possibly unleashing World War III. Also, Bozer goes on his first official mission, and Jack opens up about his history with Riley’s mother.”
So what in the world happened here? It’s certainly possible that she is being forced to do something against her will here, especially given the fact that she “mysteriously” is gone. We know that she does have a checkered past, but we would think that spending her time around MacGyver, Jack, and the rest of the team could rub off on her in some way.
Given that this episode is probably also the winter finale for the show, we definitely hope that there will be some added stakes and possibly even a cliffhanger for the next part of the season. The one thing that may be a bit of a disappointment to some is that there’s no clue in here about a Christmas episode, and we suppose that this could be a function for the most part of the show not knowing when all of its episodes would air. This is something that does tend to happen often with series in their first year of being on the air.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Sometimes it’s hard to tell via limited press releases. It just seems like it’s something CBS would want to directly promote.

They’ve been keeping quiet for weeks now and I don’t know really why. It’s hard to find new information and BtS-pictures. But if you’re interested: I’ve been blogging about the reboot on “The MacGyver Project” since July and there’s a lot going on on the “MacGyver Online” Forums, too. The community manages to put together all the little tidbits of information we manage to find ;-)
