NBC’s ‘The Voice’ iTunes results: Sundance Head, Brendan Fletcher, Billy Gilman win big

VoiceAfter a few weeks where iTunes sales for “The Voice” contestants were looking as though they were floundering versus previous seasons, we’re here to tell you now that we absolutely don’t see that anymore! Based on the latest iTunes rankings (which were compiled at around 11:10 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday), we’ve got multiple artists likely declared safe thanks to being in the top 10.

With this in mind, we’re only going to focus in this article on the singers who’ve made it this far up the list — with one exception. Especially given the fact that Darby Walker went home last week despite some solid iTunes sales, we’re considering almost everyone else in some degree of danger.

Sundance Head – Religious songs always fare well on the show, so it’s hardly a shock to see Sundance sitting pretty at #1, effectively guaranteeing him safety in our mind.

Brendan Fletcher – A really great outing for Brendan, who made it all the way to #2 with “True Colors.” We were worried that the saxophone arrangement would scare some people off.

Billy Gilman – He may not be solely a country artist anymore, but having “Anyway” at #4 is proof that he’s still got some popularity in that market.

Christian Cuevas – We said that his “Million Reasons” was his best performance of the season, and given that he’s now sitting at #6, most viewers seem to agree.

We McDonald – She’s one of the favorites to win the whole thing, and right now her “God Bless the Child” is at #10. Not bad for a song that we don’t view as particularly commercial.

We’re going to throw Ali Caldwell in here as someone who is probably safe given that her “Without You” is at #14, but we’ve seen some crazy things happen on this show over time.

We’ll be back soon at this link to chronicle some of the artists on “The Voice” who, at least at the moment, seem to be in some degree of danger.
