NBC’s ‘The Voice’ song spoilers: Ali Caldwell, Austin Allsup, Brendan Fletcher’s picks for top 10 show
Tonight, “The Voice” will be bringing you the top ten performance show, and with that in mind, we’re of course here to deliver to you the official song choices on the night! While we can’t tell you how any of them will sound once they get up on stage to perform them, for now, we’ll at least say that we like many of the tunes in theory.
Of course, we’ll offer up some further updates on all of these performances a little bit later tonight, so be sure to head over here and be on the lookout for our LIVE review!
Austin Allsup, “Missing You” – We lowkey love this song, so it’s kind of cool that he’s doing an eighties pop song versus something that is traditional country. We like that Austin isn’t trying to just identify himself as one thing.
Sundance Head, “Me and Jesus – Hey, gospel songs kill on iTunes from this show, and Sundance seems like the sort of guy who’d sing them at a concert. Makes sense.
Courtney Harrell, “If I Could Turn Back Time” – What is it with all of the various members of Team Blake performing old-school pop songs? We’ll always be happy to get some Cher on the show.
Ali Caldwell, “Without You” – If she was going to do a song with a Badfinger connection, we wish she’d gone with “Baby Blue” a.k.a. the “Breaking Bad” series finale song. This one, though, does have the Mariah Carey stamp on it.
Aaron Gibson, “Rocket Man” – Our favorite Elton John song. If this doesn’t help Aaron, nothing will.
We McDonald, “God Bless the Child” – The old standard is a favorite of many past “American Idol” favorites including Jennifer Hudson and Jacob Lusk. We should kill with this song.
Christian Cuevas, “Million Reasons” – We’re not the biggest Christian fan, but kudos to him for trying to take on something super-current in hopes of getting some more attention.
Billy Gilman, “Anyway” – For at least this week, the former country crooner is not drifting away from that genre.
Brendan Fletcher, “True Colors” – We haven’t heard a version of this song performed by a guy with Brendan’s sort of voice; therefore, we’re at least moderately curious as to how this will sound.
Josh Gallagher, “Real Good Man” – Josh hasn’t strayed much from his country roots so far this season, so we can’t be too shocked that he’s doing the same thing here.
