‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 18 video: First look at ‘Girl Meets a Christmas Maya’

While there may not have been a new episode of “Girl Meets World” on the Disney Channel this Friday, rest assured that you’re getting another one sooner rather than later! How soon? Just think along the lines of a matter of days.

The promo below confirms what we already knew, and that is that “Girl Meets a Christmas Maya” is going to be airing on the network Friday night. The title here is a clear reference to the classic Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol, and with that, we certainly imagine that some of themes are going to be similar.

After all, this promo does feature Maya doing her best version of Ebeneezer Scrooge, saying “humbug” and acting like Christmas is a holiday she wants no part in. When you stop to think about if for a moment or two, it’s easy to understand her sentiment and where precisely she is coming from. Just remember for a moment that she was raised in a complicated home, and while her mother absolutely loves her, there may have been some difficult Christmases for her still growing up. Maybe that caused her to associate the holiday with some bad memories, and she needs someone to help turn things around for her. Luckily, isn’t this what the Matthews family is for? We have a feeling that they’ll be more than happy to lend a helping hand.

Given that “A Christmas Carol” has a happy ending, we certainly imagine that this will in due time, as well. Hopefully, it also offers up some further closure on the Maya character in general given that this could end up being one of the last episodes of the series. There are a few still after it, but the network still is waiting to decide what it wants to do in terms of another season.
