Is ‘MacGyver’ episode 10 new tonight on CBS? Mac and Bozer head home

MacGyver -

Tonight, we come bearing the rather-unfortunate news for all fans of “MacGyver” out there, and that’s rather simple: There is no new episode of the show airing on CBS. It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and our general feeling here is that the network is going ahead and assuming that the majority of their viewers are either traveling, recovering from the holiday, or off somewhere asleep after getting up at three in the morning to scream at someone over a television.

The series is actually not going to be returning on the network until we get around to December 9, but we can bring you at the very least the first details about this installment, entitled “Pliers.” The synopsis below was not available when we wrote the preview last week for this episode, so we’re excited to get into it now:

“Mac and the team have no time to reminisce while visiting Mac’s and Bozer’s hometown when they immediately start searching for a kidnapped prodigy from Mac’s old middle school, Valerie (Amiah Miller). With just pliers and speaker wire available, Mac works doggedly to rescue the young genius he has so much in common with.”

For those of you craving further MacGyver backstory, it does appear like this episode is going to be a fairly-consistent source of that. In addition to that, we also have a feeling that it’ll be fun to see how Mac in particular demonstrates some of the skills that he now has while in this particular environment.

As for Bozer, he is also in a little bit of a different place in his life than he was previously, given that at the end of this past episode, he took on a job with the government after he learned the truth about his roommate’s alter ego. This gives him an even further purpose in life, while simultaneously protecting his secret.
