‘This Is Us’ stars Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley thrilled with early success

This Is Us -There are so many people right now who are more than thankful for much of what life’s given to them, but we’re not sure that many of them are feeling the joy like the cast of “This Is Us” on NBC. The show’s success is certainly of the whirlwind variety. Going into the season, it was almost impossible to envision that the show would have the almost-immediate impact that it would in terms of the ratings, and its impact on pop-culture.

Just look at it further in this way: It’s a family drama with a surprising twist in the pilot, but one people still gotta watch to get there. It also doesn’t have a cast stuffed full of big names. These are cast members who really worked hard to go to this point, which may be a part of its appeal. After all, even they are still trying to take in the show’s success!

Speaking today at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to Al Roker, Chrissy Metz (Kate) made it clear that she was thrilled with the show’s success so far, making it clear that “you always hope, but you never know how it’s going to be received. It’s pretty amazing.”

Meanwhile, her co-star Justin Hartley added “it’s great to see that people are responding to it in the way they are.”

The appearance from Metz and Hartley at the Parade today comes a mere matter of 36 or so hours from the show airing its Thanksgiving episode, one that did not necessarily have the happiest of endings based on some of the revelations Randall (Sterling K. Brown) made about his mother’s history with William over the course of their lives.
