‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7 spoilers: More details on Lou Diamond Phillips role

LongmireEarlier this week, we wrote about “Hawaii Five-0” getting a welcome addition in the form of one of our favorite actors from one of our favorite shows: Lou Diamond Phillips of “Longmire” fame (pictured above from the Netflix series).

According a new report from TVLine, Phillips is going to be playing the part of Lincoln in the upcoming 14th episode of the seventh season currently airing on CBS Friday nights. He’s described as being a tough-as-nails U.S. Deputy Marshal who helps to lead a Special Operations Group tactical team. Basically, this is a guy who means business. We’ve see Lou Diamond shine in authoritative roles before, but we like how there are some tangible differences on the surface right away between this and Henry Standing Bear from the Netflix series. Of course, the actor’s also known for a wide array of other roles, and also appeared in a recent role on “Blindspot.”

This role is coming at a time when there is a lot of change happening within the “Hawaii Five-0” universe, given that Masi Oka is slated to depart the series as the Max character a little bit later in the season; meanwhile, we’re coming off of the 150th episode, which allowed for a continuation for the story with Steve and Catherine. It appears likely that Michelle Borth will be returning at some point a little bit later in the season, but there are no further details on the subject at present.

As for Phillips’ full-time gig, the sixth and final season of “Longmire” will most likely begin filming this spring, with a premiere date slated for this fall.
