Is ‘Poldark’ season 2 on tonight? Could more season 3 footage be released soon?

PoldarkThe past ten weeks have proven themselves to be quite the significant ones when it comes to British television. After all, we’d developed a habit of watching “Poldark” through its excellent second season. We came to know and care about the characters more than ever before, and even when we did not appreciate every move that they made in full, we at least saw more of a path to redemption with them (except for maybe George — forget that guy).

Unfortunately, we’re at the end of the road now when it comes to new episodes airing on BBC One. There is nothing coming up on the network tonight, even though if you’re located in America, this is not actually the case. The show, starring Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson, is a few weeks behind there, and is airing tonight a particularly controversial episode featuring Ross and Elizabeth front and center.

What was rather lovely is that the BBC handed down a brief teaser for season 3 (see here) in the closing seconds of the finale, so we have something further to go on. The question for now is when we are going to have a chance to see a little bit more. There’s no firm answer to that. If the network decides to move the third season to the spring (there’s a chance they could if they want to avoid “Victoria” competition, but nothing is even remotely confirmed), odds are that more footage could just be months away.

However, if the allow the show to remain located in the fall, you better be prepared to wait a long time. British series tend to keep premiere dates and trailers rather hush-hush for a long time, so it could be July or August until we see anything more, beyond just a teaser here or there via social media. We’ll post some as they come out, provided that it is through an official channel.
