‘The X Factor’ UK results preview: Will Saara Aalto, Honey G, or Ryan Lawrie be eliminated?
Tonight, we’re going to have the latest “X Factor” elimination of the season, and if all early signs become reality, then we could be up for seeing what is the most dramatic ones to date.
Ultimately, we see this show going one of two ways: Completely predictable, or descending into utter madness. The first thing we should say here is that odds are very low that this is the end of the Honey G story tonight. She closed out the night, and with that, we imagine that she will probably have the votes to stay safe and frustrate fans of everyone else along the way. We do think that the series will set up her for a fall next week by sticking her at the start of the show; they’ve done things like this before, such as when they gave Stevi Ritchie the pimp spot for “The Phantom of the Opera” before he went out the door not too long after that.
The person in the biggest danger tonight is Saara Aalto, which is sad to us since we feel like her “Enough Is Enough” cover last night was the best of the entire night. It’s too bad that when the chips are down here, that really doesn’t matter. Going first on the night is often a death sentence, and this would mark her fourth time in danger. Unless she’s up against either Honey G or Ryan Lawrie in the end, this could be it.
Other than maybe Ryan, it’s hard to imagine anyone else in danger. Maybe Emily Middlemas suffers because of her “Wishing on a Star” rendition (and some of the immediate friction that came out between her and Simon Cowell over what she apparently wanted to do instead) could be in trouble, but we doubt it in the end. She’s had a number of other good performances that she should be carried through.
