‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7 spoilers: Happy Birthday, Chin!

One of the most-charming things about “Hawaii Five-0” as a series is that it does possess this really remarkable ability to balance out some extremely exciting, action-packed moments with some others that are rather sweet and emotional. For example, the end of Friday night’s new episode put Danny and Grover in a position where they were watching their children metaphorically grow up before their eyes as they had their first dance together.

This is of course a trend that is going to continue as we press along further into the season, and specifically, we could be seeing it sooner rather than later with Daniel Dae Kim’s character of Chin! Speaking per Entertainment Weekly on the subject of what is going to be coming up for the character, executive producer Peter Lenkov had the following to say:

“We’re doing a birthday party for Chin … Sang Min, and a bunch of people that are sort of family members that don’t show up every so often, will be in that episode.”

While just a small tease, we’re always going to welcome any news that “Hawaii Five-0” is going to be dipping into its guest roster for an upcoming episode. After all, we think that this is one of the show’s greatest strengths: They’ve got a really impressive lineup of people who they can bring onto the show whenever they want to add to the tapestry.

Given what Chin’s been going through lately in terms of a little bit of family drama, we do think he’s certainly deserving of a little bit of a happier time! Here’s to hoping that this turns out for him in the way we’d like for it to. Nobody wants a sad birthday party!
