‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10, episode 9 preview: Who makes Sheldon jealous?

The Big Bang TheoryNext week’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” is going to be the last before Thanksgiving, and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty-fun one based on the early details that we’re getting about it now. After all, there are few things as interesting in the world as seeing Dr. Sheldon Cooper completely fall into jealous tendencies, and you better believe that we’re going to see that here.

Synopsis – “When Bert (Brian Posehn), a Caltech geologist, wins the MacArthur Genius fellowship, Sheldon is overcome with jealousy. Also, Wolowitz finds an old remote control Stephen Hawking action figure he invented.”

The first thing that we’re excited about here is the presence of Bert front and center in the story; with us seeing a little bit less of John Ross Bowie on the show these days as Kripke (he’s got another role on ABC’s “Speechless”), the series needed another prominent recurring player and Posehn has stepped up to that spot in recent years. Given that we’ve been a fan of his for a long time, it’s nice to have him in this role.

Meanwhile, it’s also rather-nice to have another mention of Stephen Hawking on the show. While we cannot confirm that he’ll be turning up in the flesh again, we’re at the very least happy that he is not being forgotten about.

Update: Since writing this, we’ve actually learned that both Bowie and Hawking will be appearing alongside Posehn. Basically, CBS is giving you everything you could possibly want and then some.

So what’s coming down the pipeline after this? While there are no more confirmed episodes coming up, we feel like it’s likely that there will be more coming before the holidays. There’s no guarantee of another Christmas episode, but at the same time we don’t really need one given that we already have a couple of great ones in the can already for this show.
