‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ episode 9: The Taissa Farmiga – Jacob Artist mystery
Tonight, “American Horror Story: Roanoke” will air its penultimate episode of the season, and one that (hopefully) will answer many questions about the “Return to Roanoke: Three Days in Hell” show-within-a-show we’ve been experiencing over the past several weeks of the season. Also, hopefully it will give us some further answers regarding the show’s cast.
While the roster of players has long been one of the series’ strengths over the course of its run, executive producer Ryan Murphy noticeably scaled things back this time around. While popular players such as Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, and Frances Conroy all had roles, they were noticeably smaller than we’ve seen in recent years. We’ve went with a smaller crew of core cast members, and with many of them now seemingly dead, there are opportunities for a couple of other names to step up to the plate.
This is where we come to Taissa Farmiga and Jacob Artist.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the two actors were going to be playing a part in the season. Farmiga is making her first appearance on an “American Horror Story” season since all the way back in “Coven.” Meanwhile, Artist is coming over to this show for the first time after being a key player on “Glee” for the latter portion of its run. Nobody quite knows what roles they will play, but we do at least know that there’s something more to come for the two of them.
If we were to speculate based on what some of the rumors are around the internet right now, one of the largest ones is that they could be playing yet another version of Shelby and Matt; or, maybe they are playing a similar couple or are starring on a big-screen version of events based on the show. The most mysterious thing to us about “Roanoke” to date is that we’re not quite sure what to make out of it just yet, or whose stories we are really meant to be invested in for now. It’s still a solid season for the show, or at least we feel this way in comparison to the past few.
We’ll be back around later tonight at this link with a full review of everything that transpires tonight. Stay tuned! (Photo: FX.)
