‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: How will Kara react to Alex, Maggie?
Are Alex and Maggie officially together on “Supergirl” just yet? We wouldn’t say that, but most indications we’re getting at the moment suggest that we are moving slowly but surely in that direction. Why would be upset about that? We’re glad to see that Alex has potentially someone that she can rely on, and it is someone who could care about her and then some.
Of course, they still have a ways to go before they get into full-on relationship status. After all, Alex is just starting to understand her feelings, and with that, we could understand if Maggie was a little hesitant to want to dive into a relationship herself. She may be afraid of getting hurt, especially coming off of a relationship that just ended. She may come across as confident at times, but we feel like there’s a vulnerability there.
Given that the two are eventually going to come together, what will Kara think about it? It’s going to be a change to see her sister in this position, and speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had the following to say about it:
“She is obviously going to be extremely open to it. Kara’s reaction is interesting. She feels a little sad, but entirely because she feels like so much of the sisters’ lives have been about Kara, have been about protecting her, keeping her secret, making sure she’s safe, and last year, this journey for her in becoming Supergirl. She feels like she created an environment in which Alex never felt comfortable discussing this stuff, so she laments that. She also says to Alex, too, that she understands what it’s like to turn off a part of yourself to go along and get along. It only makes the sisters closer.”
The thing about Kara and Alex is that the two of them are clearly good people who are about each other, and as a result of that, there is no ultra-defined reason to be afraid for their relationship crumbling now or really ever. Our bigger fear is just that being more connected to Supergirl could end up putting Maggie in harm’s way.
